Running

Looks like running has come to an end for this year, but what a year we had! over 2500 paying passengers. great progress on our major project building the new carraige store, and lots of work in other areas. also we extended the station platform and installed extra water points.Next year I hope to complete the carraige store tunnel, run power for loco blowers into the steam bay, put individual water points into the steam bay. paint the track. and hopefully join the club house and store shed…See More

Well sorry fans but Ive missed a few weeks, the first Sunday of Oct was the first day I wasnt at the track this year [other comitments] However with the weather being so good the lads had a good day. The last two Sundays have seen a fall off in passenger numbers but it has still been worth running. I think the weather is now going to turn against us.The last few weeks has seen us carry out a lot of track work with the replacement of cracked A frames and leveling, John did a lot of work along…See More

Last weekend of September

This time of the year normally sees us running with very few passengers, however this weekend was good with numbers up on both days.

Saturday was good, I ran my Simplex after repairs in the week and we had Rons Ruston, Kens big class 20 and the club loco all in action. Sunday saw Ken, Trevor,Bob,Nigel,me  and Ron all have a go.

We are almost up to 2500 passengers for the year, with the weather holding we might do it this weekend!

Weekend activity

This weekend saw us running both days and we realy should have not bothered with Saturday as we had no passengers.

Sunday was far better with 63 fares taken, I was running first with Juno but after a couple of hours had to take it off with a problem, Ron quickly put his Ruston on and then we had Nigel with his Polly V and Ken with his big class 20.

Gravesend visit to Sheppey

It would seem from Edgar at Gravesend that at least 15 of there members will visit us on the 10th of September, last year several of there good ladies came along so we should expect 20 plus. We will need everybody who can to help on the day. 10 of us who visited them in June where overwhelmed by there hospitality and we need to respond likewise.
